Our unique bungalows are in the small Sea-side fishing village of Barra de Potosi located on the shores of the Pacific
Ocean in the State of Guerrero, Mexico. We are situated just 20 minutes south of the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo airport. Barra de Potosi is
a perfect spot for relaxation and recreation, just a short walk away there is an impressive white sand beach that stretches for miles.
The beach is a real-5min. level walk away from our sunny house; from our cozy patio and tropical garden you can feel the breeze and
hear the ocean surf.

THERE ARE 4 INDIVIDUAL BUNGALOWS
Each bungalow has a bathroom, and is equipped with 2 sleeping areas, 1 bedroom downstairs and 1 loft bedroom upstairs. Each room has a double bed on the ground
floor and depending from the unit a single or double bed on the loft featuring comfortable North American-style mattresses. Each comfortable villa is equipped
with a variety of tasteful amenities such as; modern roomy bathrooms equipped with numerous large, plush towels as well as a variety of shelves, cupboards and drawers.
The interior is created with a stunning combination of Pine woodwork and Mexican-style wrought iron banisters. All units are non-smoking.
You will appreciate the large ceiling fan as well as 2 powerful portable rotating tower fans in each room.
Each villa is equipped with a sink, a full set of dishes, cutlery and a variety of tea and coffee. For your convenience there is a hot water kettle, as well
as a mini fridge. Each unit also has a docking entertainment system for your I-Pod, your portable USB MP3 player and audio playback for your MP3/WMA-CDs.
There is a delightful fully-screened porch, so you don't have to worry about the mosquitos at night. The porch is like a private patio,
each unit featuring its own set of tables and chairs. For added pleasure there is a variety of comfortable hammocks in the screened-in patio area.
There are many power outlets (115V) and are the same type as you find anywhere in North America.
While you are enjoying the beach, lagune, sun and sand Alma will clean your room and replace your linen. |

In the garden of our unique accommodation we feature a modern, fully-equipped
separate kitchen building where you may prepare a meal or make a fruit smoothie. It is equipped with a vast variety of utensils, cutlery, dishes, a modern fridge,
coffee maker, juicer, blender, toaster, and microwave. There is a purified-water dispenser in the kitchen and the tap water is also filtered.
The garden is a delight! We have a large, round table and chairs underneath our fabulous Palapa Gazebo. When you come back from the beach you can step into the
outdoor shower next to the kitchen building and cool off before entering your private bungalow.

GETTING THERE is easy!
From Canada and the U.S.A. with Alaska Airlines via San Francisco or L. A. to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. Upon arrival at the Zihuatanejo airport it is a 25 min.
taxi ride to Barra de Potosi.

DRIVING YOUR OWN CAR:
Take the Federal Freeway Number 200 until you reach a small village called Los Achotes located at km 225.
There you will find a sign indicating Laguna de Potosí; here you leave the Freeway and follow the paved road.
After approx. a mile you come to a fork in the road, there you veer to the left and continue all the way to the end to the village of Barra de Potosi.
The ocean is on your right. Upon reaching the village you will see a shop with a large sign with the name Tendajon Lupita written on it.
Here you turn left and continue up the unpaved street called: Ing. Javier Rodriguez almost all the way to the end, on the right you will see
the white wall of Villas-Tuparaiso with a black iron gate and fence. (see first picture: top of the page left).

WITH PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM ZIHUATANEJO:
In downtown Zihuatanejo across the street from the Bancomer Bank is the Palmera Street (Calle Palmera) bus station.
Take the bus to Los Achotes (10 Pesos p.p.). At Los Achotes you must take a passenger truck called a Colectivo (10 Pesos p.p.) for a 15 min. ride to Barra de Potosí.

ACTIVITIE GALORE!
A four minute walk, or a 1/4 Mile from our sunny house there is the most beautiful
beach that is approx. 10 miles long.
It is perfect for swimming, body surfing,
board surfing and fishing.
Beach combing for Sea shells is an extra ordinary experience specially in the morning, see local fisherman coming back with their daily
catch.
Watch hundreds of blue Crabs feed in the lagoon, or stroll barefoot along the shoreline and watch hundreds of pelicans, frigate birds and boobies dive for fish! What a sight!

The sunset is a thing of beauty. You will enjoy the temperature
of the water which is an unbelievable 26-28 C/84-88 F. Because of our close proximity to the southern hemisphere and our pitch black nights stargazing is something
special here. Bring some powerful binoculars.
KAYAK RENTAL and BOAT TOURS:
Visit the impressive lagoon where you can rent kayaks and go out on the lagoon or into the ocean surf. Boogie boarding the waves is a favorite pass-time
here; there are boogie boards for rent or bring your own. If you enjoy adventures, take a motor-boat trip through the lagoon and see fresh water fish, crocodiles,
birds and animals, as well as mangroves and many other exotic plants.
HIKING & the GUAMILULE GRIND:
We have the Guamilule hill which may be climbed by anyone who has the stamina to attempt it. On the top of the hill you will be rewarded with a spectacular view
of the entire bay and you may see the complete extension of the lagoon.

The beach is a fisherman's paradise! Bring your rod and reel for an unbelievable fishing
experience right off the beach or from a fishing boat. If you are lucky you can catch a Barrilete, a 20-30 pound Curel-Jack or a Mahi mahi. Your fishing line
should be 15-20 pound test, equipped with a 30-40 pound leader, and your spinning reel should hold at least 175-250 yd's. of fishing line. Live bait, sardines
or anchovies are preferred, but good silvery plastic wiggly lures work as well.
Boat fishing trips and tours through the lagoon (bird watching) with guide can be arranged at our villa.
WHAT'S FOR DINNER!
On the beach and on the lagoon shore there are 10 enramadas or beach restaurants that offer a variety of delicious sea food and local fare.
In the village there are several typical Mexican eateries; also known as; "typical backyard BBQ eateries". For a more culinary experience you can always go to
Zihuatanejo, which is just a half hour away from this idyllic location in Paradise.

SUPPLIES AND LOCAL SHOPS IN BARRA DE POTOSI:
Small local shops called tendajones or tiendas offer basic things such as fruit, vegetables, yoghurt, beverages, cookies, lemonade, eggs, purified water etc.
There is a shop right next door to our villas. Fresh fish, fillets and prawns can be bought nearby at la Casa de Payo towards the beach along the coconut road. In the village there is a tortilla outlet where they sell tortillas and buns in the morning. The fruit & veggie trucks come by every Saturday and Wednesday in between 10 AM and noon. The LALA truck passes by every Tuesday in between 8:00-9:30 AM. You may buy large quantities of yoghurt, milk, cheese and drinks straight from the truck driver.
In Barra you can pay the local shop and restaurants with U.S. dollars. There are no banks in the village; to change money or travelers cheques you have to go to Zihuatanejo; an ATM machine is inside the Zihuatanejo-airport.

Once you have booked your stay with us, we require a 50% deposit. Payment can be made through our secure online PayPal account.
The remaining 50% has to be paid upon your arrival. For cancellations up to 20 days before arrival, we will refund the deposit minus an administration
fee of $50.00 USD. Any cancellation made after the 20-day mark will result in the loss of your deposit.
